Cocoa Association of Nigeria Limited went into action by campaigning for improved quality of produce, against smuggling, against the use of Cocoa (and other commodities of Nigeria) as means for unauthorized repatriation of capital(Currency conversion) and fought vigorously to ensure that all Cocoa Exporters in Nigeria repatriate proceeds from their sales
Cocoa Association of Nigeria through its several meetings embarked on how, and the need, to trade cocoa beans and products of high quality to ensure bright future for the Cocoa Industry in Nigeria
To ensure acceptability of Cocoa beans and products exported overseas, Cocoa Association of Nigeria sent a delegation to London in April, 1987. The delegation, which was led by His Royal Highness, Oba Oyebade Lipede, the Alake of Egbaland, held several meetings with the Cocoa Association of London(CAL). The timing of the visit of CAN delegation to London was most opportune. It took place when Cocoa Consumers in Europe were worried about the quality of our produce.
Apart from the above the Association has amongst other things since its inauguration engaged in the following activities:
- Establishment of its Secretariat Offices
- Compilation and review of membership list
