The need to have a body to perform some of the monitoring and regulatory function of the defunct Nigerian Cocoa emerged. At the end of the conference organized by the Association of Nigeria Exporters (ANE) in cooperation with the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) on cocoa trade at Akure, Ondo State on the 30th and 31st October, 1986
Achievements
Cocoa Association of Nigeria Limited went into action by campaigning for improved quality of produce, against smuggling, against the use of Cocoa (and other commodities of Nigeria) as means for unauthorized repatriation of capital (Currency conversion) and fought vigorously to ensure that all Cocoa Exporters in Nigeria repatriate proceeds from their sales
